YOPDIDA, caring for vulnerable children like Ivan

We first met Ivan in 2013 when we visited YOPDIDA, (Youth and Persons with Disability Integrated Development Association) in Uganda. Ivan had been left in the bush feeding on small fish for 2 months. He cannot read or hear, so was brought to YOPDIDA, and was being cared for by Sheikh Idris Kabali and his wife, Halima.   He is lame, has multiple disabilities and is HIV positive. He still cannot speak or hear, but he is happy. At YOPDIDA they could ensure he receives his medication. YOPDIDA could also ensure he is educated about the rights of a human being, toilet training and eating habits.
